Drive Thru Church

In one of his most striking parables, Jesus spoke of a master who prepared a banquet and then ordered his servants to "Go out to the roads and country lanes and urge [people] to come in, so that my house will be full." (Luke 14:23)

In our first Drive Thru Church, June 29-July 1, Trinity Hillcrest literally went out to a road -- Hillcrest Road in North Dallas -- to urge people driving by "to come in," to meet Jesus Christ (maybe for the first time), to fellowship with him (maybe more deeply than ever before), and to begin to share the banquet his Father has prepared.

From 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., we were out in front of our church offering three free gifts: free coffee (Starbucks!), free donuts (Krispy Kreme!), and free grace (ours through the mercy of God in Christ!).

We hope to do many more DTCs in the future.

(Kuddos for this idea to the massively-gifted Rev. Richard F. James of Sydney, Australia, and the people of St. David's Forestville Anglican Church.)
